Sooner or later every dog has his day! Now finally sooner is now for domestic violence victims in California awarded restitution and civil judgments against their abusers. No longer is the proverbial "check in the mail" or "I can't pay" going to work for these abusers-not anymore!Special thanks to California Assemblywoman Patty Berg for introducing CA AB 2487 which passed through the Assembly with a 78-0 vote! Domestic Violence victims now have the upper hand regarding collecting on their claims. The FTB (Franchise Tax Board) will now be resolving unpaid judgment and restitution balances so the abusers will not be able to "run and hide" as easily from their financial obligations to pay.
The bill's analysis can be viewed using this link:

If you are a domestic violence victim you have rights and your abuser should be held responsible for his actions. Please consult with an attorney regarding your rights under the law as a judgment is no longer a worthless piece of paper for domestic violence victims!

Hi Alexis:
I have to thank you for signing my guestbook at cherylktardif.com, and thank you for the comments about my books.
When I saw your message, I came to your website and started reading some of your posts, but I didn't comment. You're doing a great job here! This information needs to be out there for people to read.
I was also drawn to your links and one in particular. A Voice for Tori and Dean. I followed that link--I'm not sure why exactly. What I read there was horrifying, saddening and just unbelievable.
Since going to their site via yours, I have blogged about them twice. I signed Tori and Dean's guestbook and received emails from Tori's mom and friend. We're staying in touch. I also participated (in my own way) in the candlelight vigil.
I invite you to visit my blog, read these posts and see what your one comment left on my blog produced. Thank you.
